Fix fallout from my old arch-nemesis, the shadows bug.

The original intent of the code was to do this. Due to a screwup, I was checking q.shadow instead of q.shadow.f. Since I'm now checking the right place, remove the cargo cult typeof from an earlier workaround that didn't actually fix anything...
