Address https://drupal.org/node/687558, adding a new hook for altering the ajax commands being sent. This lets a module add additional commands to update content. We then utilise this hook in the comment and node submodules. Note that this solution currently triggers the bug described in https://drupal.org/node/736066 (an extra div is added for each invocation), which will have the potential to mess up some css. Issue https://drupal.org/node/1878346 suggests using dirname(__FILE__) instead of drupal_get_path because "including a file via drupal_get_path requires the database to be initialized to work correctly, and so can be problems for install profiles. Since the file is relative to current file, can just use dirname(__FILE__)." Apply the suggestion (the supplied patch is now out of date as far as D7 is concerned). l() adds the active class to links it generates, but we don't want that when replacing the HTML for a link because the original link didn't have that class. Fasttoggling a link should only change the description of the status or action, not the appearance of the link. This is ugly; perhaps the right solution is to get .active added to begin with, but I'm going with this behaviour for now. Signed-off-by: Nigel Cunningham <nigel@tuxonice.net>
